'Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building' stresses strict discipline, unified leadership, and anti-corruption efforts
At a nationwide party building conference held on Monday, "Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building" was described as "a landmark in the history of Marxist theories on party building and in the history of Chinese Communist Party building," as reported by state broadcaster CCTV.
The report stated that "Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building" introduced "14 principles," including adherence to "a centralized, unified leadership of the party Central Committee," commitment to "full and rigorous party self-governance," and insistence on an organizational framework that is integrated across all levels.
Combating corruption remains a key priority. The ideology calls for coordinated actions to ensure that "officials lack the audacity, opportunity, or desire to engage in corrupt practices."
This latest addition to the party's theoretical framework has been unveiled approximately one year before the upcoming party congress, anticipated to take place in autumn 2027. It is projected that over two-thirds of the party's Central Committee will be replaced due to standard age restrictions. Significant changes within the Politburo and its Standing Committee are also expected.
