This endeavor, situated in Gaoping—a county-level municipality in southeastern Shanxi—is generating 1,000 tonnes each day of building and industrial materials, including sand and gravel aggregates utilized in construction, as reported by the local government.
In a mid-May article, provincial officials noted that these materials originate from the primary solid waste produced during mining and washing processes, referred to as coal gangue.
By breaking through the tough composition of coal gangue, China has nearly accomplished the comprehensive clean utilization of coal wastes—spanning from contaminated water to exhaust gases and now solid residues.
